This is our final project, for this i did chalk pastels. I wanted to do a girl in a bathtub filled with meat because i saw a similar image except it was with eyeballs. Instead i just made the water red because making defined shaped was really challenging. I wanted to make something that's pretty but gives a little bit of horror vibes. I struggled to blend the chalk into the shapes i wanted. I ended up forgetting to take progress photos but i put the photos i used as references for shading.
We made imprints into metal and incorporated it into a drawing that's on matboard. I really enjoyed this, mainly because i got to use colored pencils and i didnt struggle too much with the carving of the metal. I drew it on a piece of paper first then i used wax paper to transfer the drawing to the board. I drew a robot lady with part of her face as the metal. i accidently got ink on the piece so i incorporated it into the art. I put on butane after i was done. 10/10 would do again :)
We did block printing for this project. First we had to carve a design out, then we had to put block printing ink on the design and use printing tools to print it on a piece of paper. I struggled to keep my work space clean during this process, and struggled to carve out the design on the material. Overall im ok with how these turn out.
We modeled and 3d printed objects. I made a cookie cutter and a light box. I didn't particularly like or dislike any part of this project.I drew what i wanted to design first, and then i imported those images to tinkercad. After that i cleaned the lines up. I struggled with making sure everything would be thick or thin enough to print.
My final for this semester is an acrylic painting. In the painting there is a big mountain with an eclipse behind it. Sitting on the top of a cave that is in front of the mountain is two people representing the sun and the moon. The sun is offering a flower to the moon. Below them is a random person walking out of a cave and being confused as to why they just walked into a ton of hair. I really just wanted to make something with a lot of harsh lighting and some type of little story. I enjoyed painting this but i really struggled to make it look similar to the sketch. i think the person walking out of the cave looks cuter in the sketch. I also struggled with the little details on the mountain and the sun/moon person's face. Another thing i struggled with is painting the hands. it was a little challenging to get the shape right. Overall i'm pretty satisfied with how this turned out and maybe ill make more illustrations based around the sun/moon people in the future.
This is a graphic art project that we did for a project. It had to have meaning so i tried to make it look like the girl is eating too much than she can handle.
this is a graphic art practice we did in class.
We got to paint with watercolor for this project. some things i struggled with is getting the values darker in some places, controlling the paint when making small details, and using too much or too little water. I did mess up a handful of times but in the end i ended up making it a part of the details/texture. I think i really enjoyed painting this overall.
we did portraits of other people for this project. i struggled with timing myself and drawing her eyes. I don't enjoy drawing people as much as other projects.
this was our sketchbook project for this year, we tried japanese binding. i had struggled with the binding of the book a wholeee bunch. I would definitely do it again though. The front of the book is filled with bees, and the back is stripped with fish stickers.
